November 16-18, 2018, Dublin, Ireland – Join World BEYOND War at the First International Conference Against US/NATO Military Bases. The increasingly aggressive and expansionist actions of US/NATO forces, in violation of international law and the sovereign rights of all nations, has created crises that, unless checked by popular opposition, can lead to unimaginable catastrophe and war.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is planning a summit in Washington, D.C. on April 4, 2019, to mark 70 years since its creation on April 4, 1949. We’re planning a big “No to NATO” action in response. I’m reaching out to invite other organizations to form the core of a coalition to work with World BEYOND War on this.

This means contributing significant staff/volunteer time and making a financial donation to this project. Our initial plans are for activities on April 3rd and 4th and also on the preceding weekend, March 30th and 31st — including events with speakers from NATO member nations and NATO-attacked nations, non-violence trainings, art-building activities, and public nonviolent demonstrations.

We are planning a peace festival to advocate the abolition of NATO, the promotion of peace, the redirection of resources to human and environmental needs, the demilitarization of our cultures, and the commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech against war on April 4, 1967, as well as his assassination on April 4, 1968.
